Description : Nutmeg is an evergreen tropical tree, which produces a fleshy fruit and a hard seed that contains both a fatty oil and an essential oil. Nutmeg essential oil is steam distilled from the dried nut and is a clear pale yellow color, with a spizy, penetrating aroma similar to that of Juniper Berry essential oil. Common Uses : Nutmeg essential oil is commonly used in aromatherapy for its uplifting effects, particularly in cases of stress. It can also be used as a component in a liniment for muscular aches and pains and arthritis.

Stress related depressive moods: Add 3 drops of Nutmeg essential oil and 3 drops of Mandarin essential oil to a vaporizer to boost low mood states. You can also take a small bottle of Nutmeg essential oil and inhale the aroma from time to time throughout the day to help maintain a happier state. Muscular aches and pains: Add 5 drops of Nutmeg essential oil to 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and apply to the affected area. A heat pack will help bring blood to the area and reduce the stiffness.

Blends well with the following essential oils. Lavender, Clary Sage, Geranium, Rosemary, Petitgrain, Orange and other Spice Oils. Use with caution if pregnant or breast feeding as well as for babies or small children and pets, as it can be toxic in higher doses. May cause irritation to sensitive skin, however it is rare.
